Art & Craft Expo full info
We’re excited to announce that No.3 Royston is hosting the first Art & Craft Exhibition as part of the Royston Arts Festival 2024!
We would like to invite crafters and artists to enter your work, creating something that’s in keeping with this year’s theme – Arts In Motion.
The Exhibition is open to locals from Royston and the surrounding villages, aged 18 and over.
Items entered will not be for sale & will be displayed in a marquee on Saturday 28 September as part of the Gala in the Gardens event, where they will be judged and prizes awarded to winners.
How to enter
Complete the online Entry Form (hard copies available on request)
- Entries must be your own, unaided work
- No.3 Royston reserves the right to refuse to accept work
- No.3 Royston will take all reasonable care of work, but accept no responsibility for loss or damage. We recommend that you insure your entry.
- Presentation and finish, including any information provided, will be taken into account by the judging panel.
- Copyright must be acknowledged where applicable.
- Your name will not be visible to the judges.
Handing in your work
No.3 Royston will provide labels that should be securely attached to your work before handing it in.
Labelled entries must be brought to No.3 Royston on one of the following days between 10:30-15:30:
Saturday 21 September
Tuesday 24 September
Wednesday 25 September
Thursday 26 September
Friday 27 September
We are unable to store wrappings, boxes or other packing materials.
If you have difficulty delivering your exhibits, please contact No.3 Royston (details below) as it MAY be possible to make arrangements for them to be collected.
Collecting your work
Entries must be collected from the marquee at 17:00 on Saturday 28 September when the event finishes.
Please bring the entry form or ID with you. Your work will only be released to you on production of this, to ensure that work is collected by its rightful owner. If someone is collecting your work on your behalf, please give them your form.
No.3 Royston cannot store any unclaimed work. If you have any difficulty in collecting your work, you must discuss any alternative arrangements with us before the end of the exhibition.
Categories, judging and certificates/prizes
The Exhibition will be judged by a local judging panel, and certificates/prizes awarded.
Gold and silver certificates & prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
Soft Craft – knitting, crochet, dressmaking, felting, lace, needlework, patchwork & quilting, spinning, textile art, weaving
Hard Craft – jewellery, glass, models, pottery, metal work
Art - acrylic, watercolour, oil, pastel, pen, pencil, gouache, mixed media
Photography - wildlife or nature, land or sea scape, monochrome, creative
The winners presentation will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday 28th September in the marquee.
No.3 Royston reserves the right to cancel judging of a section.
Photography/marketing
Photography of exhibits in the exhibition is permitted for private/ personal purposes only. Your work may therefore be photographed by visitors to the exhibition and by No.3 Royston or Creative Royston for publicity purposes. Commercial photography is not permitted without the express permission of No.3 Royston.
Display of Work
Every effort will be made to display all entries, but if space should prove to be insufficient, the Committee reserves the right to select for display.
